Intro to Mobile Film in San Diego

Ever wanted to tell a story, make a movie, create an entertaining video or simply produce a documentary about something you are passionate about? Are you completely unaware of how to record video and sound on your mobile phone? Are you a business owner who would like to provide video for your company but don’t have a budget? Are you a professional filmmaker who would like to tap into the benefits of mobile filmmaking?

S. Botello Productions™ has introduced mobile film to San Diego and received world-wide attention from professional filmmakers as well as novices with the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego.  The success of the pioneer filmmakers who shot their films using only mobile phones has reached Hollywood via Conrad Mess and others like him. Conrad Mess shot his film, “The Fixer” with an iPhone 4 and the quality of the film and the skills and talents of a novice filmmaker with no training brought him an invitation to Hollywood to create another film using an iPhone 4s, “The Russian Roulette.” Conrad is famous around the world for the quality of his films, whether shot with phones or real cameras. However, his fame originates as a mobile filmmaker with numerous awards for his talents and his creativity as a mobile filmmaker.

SBP formed the “Mobile Film School” in San Diego with a leader in the mobile film industry: Conrad Mess.

Max Schleser is a lecturer at Massey University in New Zealand. Max also shot mobile films, with his first mobile-mentary completed in 2008, “Max With A Keitai” which is available on DVD.  Max is also part of  the Mobile Innovation Network Aotearoa [MINA] which creates interactions between people, content and the creative industries. SBP is honored to be a partner with MINA with our international mobile film festival as well as having Dr. Schleser as a collaborator with our Mobile Film School and the global Mobile Film Resource center. Max came in February 2013 to launch a kickoff to our school in San Diego.
